I just recently came across this article in Mother Earth News about using unreturnable bulk materials bags into potato planters. I currently have been amassing a lot of feed bags from where we supplement the pigs and chickens. The pigs are given a soy/corn pellet feed to supplement the cafeteria scraps, and natural vegetation that they consume. The chickens are given a laying pellet blend in regular small amounts to supplement their regular diet of bugs, worms, vegetation and grit from their daily completely free range grazing. It seems to me that if implemented correctly one should be able to fold down the feed bags about half way and they would make the perfect potato planter. I will try it in my green house soon and post later what I discover.
